Wow was it cold last night

Determined to keep up the training regime and get some good mileage into the legs before Christmas, out I went last night for 4.5 mile run.

I must admit heading home from the station I was havng second thoughts as it was baout 2 degrees!! But out I went and trust meonce you get going you warm up quite quickly.

Run completed in approx 39 mins this time so I am finding a little bit of the old pace again or perhaps I was so cold I was rushing to get back into a hot shower !!!!

Anyway, this weekend sees an 8 mile training run attempt so updates will follow

justgiving page now active

I have now set up the JustGiving Page for you all to donate to The Breast Cancer Campaign.

There is no minimum amount I need to raise but I have stuck £300 as my target as I think that is a fair amount to aim for. So don't feel you need to give lots, any amount is a bonus to the charity.

As some of you may or may not know, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, so this is a Charity close to my heart.

Rest day from training yesterday so back out tonight on my 4.5 mile route, wrapping up warm too, it is FREEEEEEZZZZIINNNNGGG out there !

Training Plan (according to the experts)

http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/racing/rws-basic-marathon-schedules-intermediate/109.html

This is following a 16 week training schedule so I am a little ahead of the game but someway behind what they say I should be doing, lets say I am working up to week 1  !!!!
Monday 5 miles
Tuesday 6 miles
Wednesday 7 miles
Thursday  6 miles
Friday REST Wahey !!
Saturday 6 miles
Sunday 8 miles

I don't even want to think about the later weeks at this point !!!

The Morning After

Last night another 2.2 miles completed this time at a more respectable 8:30 per mile pace, this is heading in the right way, not sure I am ready to repeat that 11 times at that pace yet!

Legs are feeling a bit better, seems they are remembering that we have been through this all before and are actually starting to believe we can do it all again BUT FASTER !!!

Wednesday is rest day ...............

Day 1 (AGAIN)

So, last night saw the re-starting of my training. A small cold halted my training a few weeks ago but we are on the road once more! 4.2 miles completed on the streets of Farnborough and Locksbottom. Bit chilly but with hat and gloves firmly in place kept the cold at bay. Route completed in just under 40 mins, not brilliant but at the moment it is all about mileage and getting my legs remembering what to do!!

Must admit legs felt a bit heavy this morning, but still good for a shorter 2.5mile dash tonight ...........
